I’ve always been drawn to contrast. Not just visually, but emotionally.
In this piece, a boy stands wrapped in oversized layers, shoulders hunched, trying to keep warm. Beside him stands Charmander; fully coloured, bright and radiating heat.
Charmander, the beloved fire type Pokémon from, has always symbolised energy and survival. Its flame literally tied to its life force.
It became a quiet story about protection, friendship and the small sources of light we rely on when things feel harsh. About the glow that keeps us going
Each print is a 6 colour hand-pulled screen print, built layer by layer to give depth and vibrancy to the flame and subtle texture to the stencil work.
