Mickey is often treated as culturally neutral, but icons rarely stay that way.
Set against the language of warning signs, the image slips slightly off balance; familiar at first glance, less certain the longer you sit with it.
There’s also a quiet reference to Full Metal Jacket, where the Mickey Mouse Club song plays over scenes of destruction. The image never changes, only the context around it.
